A development permit is not required from the City of Grande Prairie if all the applicable conditions from the bylaws in section 4.10 are met. Portable signs in Grande Prairie must be on the business property and represent the business activity. They can not advertise for third party. A portable sign can not be within 15m from another portable sign or billboard. The number of portable signs that can be put onto a property in Grande Prairie is determined by the frontage length as follows:
