Grande Prairie Sign Bylaws
A development permit is not required from the City of Grande Prairie if all the applicable conditions from the bylaws in section 4.10 are met. Portable signs in Grande Prairie must be on the business property and represent the business activity. They can not advertise for third party. A portable sign can not be within 15m from another portable sign or billboard. The number of portable signs that can be put onto a property in Grande Prairie is determined by the frontage length as follows:
- 1 portable sign for up to 30m of frontage.
- 2 portable signs for between 30m to 150m.
- 3 portable signs for a frontage greater than 150m.
The city of Grande Prairie allows illuminated portable signs. The above regulations are paraphrased for the readers convenience. The Bylaws are always subject to their interpretation of the regulations in favor of the City of Grande Prairie. The City of Grande Prairie may change the signage bylaws at any time.
